S.O.S “Save Our Souls”
A worldwide recognized symbol? S.O.S. “Save Our Souls’. When in peril at sea the call would go out S.O.S.-S.O.S. Samuel Morse’s telegraph receiver of 1821, paved the way for the use of the Morse code, which consisted of long or short pulses and were transmitted to another location through metal wires. A key and battery created a series of pulses of electric current. In 1844 Morse used his telegraph to send the message “What hath God wrought”, from Baltimore to Washington. So when an S.O.S. was sent ‘out there’, they knew it would get picked up, they had a chance of being ’saved’. — Often it will take an emergency for us to be brought to a stop— we are helpless to move, at the mercy of our circumstances, then we send out an S.O.S.- does anyone pick it up? YES!–GOD! His code is G.O.D. “Guides. Our. Destiny. “It takes a jolt; a crash; a collapse to trigger our S.O.S. but whatever pushes the button doesn’t matter, it’s the answer that counts! Is He listening? Is He on the frequency? Read Psalm 121:1-8. “I will lift mine eyes to the mountains; ah, where is help to come from? Help comes from the Eternal who made heaven and earth. Never will he let you slip; he who guards you never sleeps; he who guards Israel will neither sleep nor slumber. The Eternal guards you, sheltering you upon the right; the sun shall never hurt you in the day, nor the moon by night. The Eternal will guard you from all harm, he will preserve your life; he will protect you as you come and go, now and for evermore.” (Moffatt Bible.) So whether you send up a ’short-pulse’ like “Help”, or a ‘long-pulse’ like how much you love GOD, he hears the pulses which are transmitted to His ‘location’ through a ‘prayer’ wire! ” Call unto Me and I will answer you.” God Bless you all, “Oyez.”
