The King declares: “I love you with all my heart, can I show you how much? Look around and you’ll see all the marvellous things I’ve done for you, it’s amazing really! Some people when they are in love and want to propose marriage will have it signed in the sky by a skywriting pilot…look up and see a message from me, astonishing signs in the clouds. You may find this astounding, and yet want me to win you with a more excellent way. My extaordinary love means I’ll go the extra mile to show you how fantastic our union will be! I want us to be glorious. My whole family love you already, which is in itself incredible. They love you because I love you. Do you find that surprising? Is it so unbelievable? My Father trusts my judgement in matters of the heart, he knows that I think you’re terrific; wonderful; superb! I’ve planned our wedding already. Your dress will be of the finest gold: sensational. The guest list is remarkable, but I’ve got a venue that will accomodate them all. The feast I’ve planned will be magnificent, nothing ordinary for us. Trumpets will blow, and in the sky will be a spectacular show. I know you’ll find it splendid. I understand how big this is to you, it’s not everyday you get to be the bride of a King. You’ll sit with me upon my throne, my well-beloved queen.
It is a Roman lawyer’s maxim, who held that when you were at a loss to tell where the responsibility for a crime lay, your best chance was to inquire who had reaped the benefit of it.
When Jesus died for our sins and took our punishment, his blood that was shed, set us free from the law of sin and death. The crime was that the sinless Son of God was innocent and chose to die in our place.
Such love!
Who reaped the benefit?
Well God and Jesus did!
They planned it!
From the beginning when mankind first sinned, Jesus said that He would come to earth as a man, to take our place and restore us to right relationship with the Godhead.
Such love is too hard for us to understand, we who were once apart from God, can now draw near.
All the while God’s eternal court is open to you. Think of all those people who have entered this court, Kings and Queens, poor and rich, sick and well, young and old. Beggars, blind, lame, the dying. They came from every place and time! The blood of Jesus made a way for them to enter and receive from the King all that He had for them. You can enter too. Believe in Jesus the Son of God, that He died on the cross for your sins, that by his blood you are washed clean. He rose again and is seated at the right hand of God in heaven. God sees you through Jesus’ blood and you can enter the court, where Jesus sits on the right hand of God making intercession for you. There is no other name given to man by which we may be saved. You’ve repented of your sins, (for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God) and now you’re ‘On His Majesty’s Service.’ What an adventure waits for you! “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him, but God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. The spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”
Why are you cast down ? Lift up your head and see the ‘King of Glory.’ He is all together lovely! HE LOVES YOU! Think on this. The GOD of the whole universe loves you! His Word (the Bible),is a love letter, guidance for your life to follow. HE CARES FOR YOU. He will give you glimpses of eternity and of Himself, He wants you to see Him.

Rev Ch 4:1-3. After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and , behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
Exodus Ch24:10. And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under His feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in His clearness.
Ezekiel Ch1:28. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
Read the whole of chapter 21 of Revelation to see the ‘city’ of God prepared for you! He gives you glimpses of heaven; of Himself; just to let you know He cares. ( travel agents give you a brochure of the beautiful place you are going to.)
In Genesis Ch9:12-17, it also tells us of the compact God made with us. He set the Rainbow in the sky as a sign . By now you should be getting the message loud and clear. “When you’re done down there, come on up here, I want to spend eternity with you”.
