Walk a mile in these shoes
All ye people here this day, stop and listen to the words I say:
“Where are you heading?”
Psalm 37: 23. (KJV)
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
1 Peter 2: 21. ( Weymouth)
“And it is to this you were called; because Christ also suffered on your behalf, leaving you an example so that you should follow in His steps.”
Prior to this verse Peter is talking about if when you do right and suffer for it you bear it patiently, this is an accepable thing with God.
He then goes on to say Jesus never sinned, he never deceived. When He was reviled, He did not answer with reviling, when He suffered He uttered no threats, but left His wrongs in the hands of the righteous Judge.
This is saying here as recorded in Matthew’s Gospel that we’re to go the extra mile.
This was what a Roman soldier would do: He could compel/force a citizen to carry his goods one mile-Jesus says go the extra mile!
Matthew 5: 41. ( Weymouth)
“Whoever shall compel you to convey his goods one mile, go with him two.”
If we follow in Jesus steps, our lives would be radically changed!
The Church would be changed!
The World would be changed!
Here’s the Challenge to all Pastors and leaders!
If you challenged your congregation to ask in every decision and situation in life:
“What would Jesus do?”
Do you ( Pastors) think that things would radically change?
Do you ( Pastors) think that just maybe a revival would break out?
Why don’t you do it!
Give every member of your church a copy of Charles M. Sheldon’s book=
In His Steps.
Call for a study of it!
A prayer meeting for those commited to follow in His Steps!
Every Christian should read ‘In His Steps.’
“What are you reading by the way?
Revival comes when Christians pray!
Oh, I’ll do all this another day…
No wonder things stay this way!
Wake up, shake up, shape up,
God would say!”
“Oyez!” “Oyez!”
